This is known as the Time and Half pay rate, also it can be called overtime pay. In simple word for every hour that someone works extra time each of this hours is paid 50% more than the standard hourly pay. How to Calculate Time and a Half?

Step-by-Step Calculation:
- Your standard hourly pay.
- To calculate your overtime rate, multiply by 1.5.
- Count hours of overtime.
- Multiply the overtime rate × overtime hours to get overtime pay
Example to calculate Time and a Half :
- Regular pay rate = $20 /hr
- Overtime hours = 5 hours
- Overtime hourly pay rate = $20 x 1.5 = $30 /hr
- Overtime pay = 5 x $30 = $150
- Weekly pay = ( 40 x $20 ) =$150
